Public Library Cards for access to print-disability materials

Library cards are issued by library systems in their local branches.  Not all Canadian libraries use specific patron types for kids, or adults or print-disabled or home delivery services, etc, etc.  With nnels.ca content we look to local library card types to extend access to materials. A low-barrier registration for patrons is preferred.  Basic print disability registration language is available for libraries from the NNELS network.

The decision for how to document a print impairment is a local one -- at the library director's discretion --  but information on how the libraries across the network go about it is there to be shared. Attached are sample forms that libraries may download and modify for their own use.
