Two hundred years before, the drummer boy had been to explore the passage under the castle, seeking out King Arthur, his knights and his treasure. Now he had returned emerging with his drum beating and clutching the steady cold white-flamed candle. He was to draw together the past and the present, bringing dismay and confusion.
