The year is 2009, and the first commercial, passenger-carrying spaceflight operation, American Space Adventures, is making money and history with every launch. ASA decides to raffle off four seats on upcoming launches, and for Kip Dawson, it is a dream come true. But just as the pilot is pulling out the obligatory champagne after their successful launch, a micrometeorite punches through the wall of the spacecraft, killing him, and in the blink of an eye, Kip Dawson is truly alone.
