Transferring Daisy Books to a Sansa Clip+

Last updated: October 26, 2021

The Sansa Clip+ is a light-weight and affordable MP3 player that plays special accessibility software called "Rockbox." These special players are available online from talkingMP3players.com.

As you're transferring files, remember to transfer the whole directory and not just the Daisy files themselves.

Before you can begin, you will need the following:

  • A Windows or Mac computer,
  • A Sansa Clip+ and its USB cable,
  • A downloaded and unzipped NNELS Daisy book on your computer.

Instructions for transferring:

  1. Plug the Sansa Clip into your computer.
  2. On your computer, locate the folder which contains the book you want to listen to. Copy the folder (right-click, select "Copy" -- and make sure you copy the folder, don't go into the folder and copy the contents).
  3. Open a new navigation window (Windows users, right-click on the Start button and select "Open Windows Explorer". Mac users, go to Finder and open a new finder window).
  4. Navigate to the Sansa Clip+ and open its "Audiobooks" folder.
  5. Paste the copied book folder into the Audiobooks folder (right-click, select "Paste").
  6. Safely eject the Sansa Clip from your computer and enjoy your book!
To delete a title from the Sansa Clip+, plug the player into your computer, navigate to the file, and right-click over the folder and select "Delete".
