American nurse Annie Mitchell has seen the horrors of World War II firsthand. Aiding wounded soldiers fresh from the battlefield, she strongly believes that the enemy is an unholy, bestial force. When she agrees to participate in a risky mission, she finds herself trapped behind enemy lines deep in the Ardennes Forest of Belgium. And then she is captured. Now face to face with her German captor, Karl Hausmann, Annie discovers he is anything but the sadistic villain she had expected.
