Service Change
As of October 2, 2017, every person in Canada with a print disability can now access the National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS) under the NNELS National Service Model.
NNELS is a vibrant, cross-jurisdiction, shared-service initiative built on a robust web platform. It was launched in 2013 in response to pressure to support public libraries with accessible-format materials. The vision was, and is, for Canadians with print disabilities to have access to the same books and information as everyone else, through libraries. NNELS began with 5,000 books, and has since grown to over 50,000 items through production, purchasing, and exchange.
