Get Ready for World Braille Day 2021!

Friday, December 18, 2020

On January 4th, we will celebrate World Braille Day which commemorates the birthday of Louis Braille, the inventor of the braille system. To mark the day we will be joining with other organizations, including Braille Literacy Canada (BLC), the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB), the Canadian Federation of the Blind (CFB), the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA), and Vision Impaired Resource Network (VIRN) for a series of events, panel discussions, and book clubs. We will cap it off by singing Happy Birthday in English, and French during our Bring Your Own (Cup)Cake celebration.

We would like to invite you to join us for any or all of the sessions. Our patrons, library staff, educators and anyone interested in braille or accessible publishing are all welcome. You can find the full agenda with registration links on the NNELS website. We hope you will be able to attend!
