(English version below)

The next two books to be released as a part of the National Network for Equitable Library Service’s Braille for New Publications Project are exciting, unique works published by Bouton d’or Acadie. Both books were published on March 1st, and we at NNELS were so excited to work with the publisher to create braille versions of these French books!

Cours, Ben, Cours! by Philippe Garon, Sonia Cotten, and Daniela Zekina is a juvenile fiction “Choose Your own Adventure” novel, and readers of all ages will enjoy leading the way for the main character. This book was transcribed by Point-par-point, and is available for download in the NNELS repository as an electronic braille file. The physical copy can also be requested from its host library: the Whitecourt Public Library in Whitecourt, Alberta, as a part of NNELS’ distributed braille collection.

Le corps de l’ombre is a collection of poetry by MC June, a slam poet from Quebec, and explores the darkness and light of everyday life. This book was also transcribed by Point-par-point, and the electronic braille file for Le corps de l’ombre can be downloaded from the NNELS repository. It is also a part of NNELS’ distributed braille collection, and the physical copy can be requested from its host library, the Morinville Community Library in Morinville, Alberta.

This project was made possible thanks in part to support from the Government of Canada’s Social Development and Partnership Program – Disability Component (SDPP-D).
