Reading App Testing

Monday, July 26, 2021

NNELS’ team of accessibility testers tested a variety of reading platforms and applications for accessibility and usability. Each report features functionality, usefulness, and developer recommendations for improvement.

The goal of this project was to help users find out how accessible different applications are, to help libraries make informed purchasing decisions and advocate for accessibility to existing vendors, and to help developers make their reading systems and applications more accessible.

Our team tested:

  • Mango Languages
  • PretNumerique
  • Tumblebooks
  • World Book Online
  • Freading, Freegal, & Rocket Languages
  • Flipster
  • Creative Bug
  • LinkedIn Learning
  • SimplyE
  • Adobe Digital Editions

You can find our reports and more information on this project on AccessiblePublishing.ca!

Final reports for most are still in the works, but stay tuned!

We would like to thank the Social Development Partnerships Program - Disability Component, the Governemnt of British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories Public Library System for funding support.
