After recieving funds to excavate an 18th-century sunken ship, Jeanne Madison sets off with a number of her graduate students to find the wreck of the Luna Azul. Compelled to hire rough-and-tumble skipper Gabriel and his ramshackle craft to pursue their quest, the unlikely team finds itself battling an ethically deprived treasure hunter to locate the ship first. To make matters worse, an unforseen obstacle is about to drop in their path, and a growing attraction may be too much for either Jeanne or the captain to resist.
