Toby, Rebecca and Sandra are on holiday north of Auckland when a woman from another time begins to communicate with them through an old photograph. Sceptical at first, the three are gradually drawn into the quest to find a new leader for Arish, a country in political turmoil on a planet somewhere in the universe.
