The 16th century German artist Lucas Cranach the Elder was as brilliant as he was prolific. A close friend of Martin Luther, Cranach the Elder gave artistic substance to aspects of Luther's rebelllion against the Catholic Church. This book is an attempt to delineate some of the connections between Cranach, Luther and the Reformation.
