Tips for Exploring on Your Own

Last updated: April 3, 2023

You should now be familiar with how to use Libby to find and enjoy books! We encourage you to explore further on your own to optimize your reading experience. Some suggestions:

  • Double-tap the “Menu” button in the tab bar and explore Libby’s settings. Configure notifications and accessibility settings the way you want them.
  • Try more extensive filtering to find your perfect next read.
  • Experiment with “Bookmarks” and “Tags.
  • Users may wish to move next/previous heading commands to a custom gesture like a two-finger swipe right/left, respectively, as a way to move quickly through headings without using the rotor.
  • Finally, configure VoiceOver and Libby to work together in a way that suits you. We are partial to disabling the automatic reading of notifications so VoiceOver doesn’t interrupt itself in the middle of a paragraph. Unless your reading time is sacred, and you prefer to go a step further and enable “Do Not Disturb.” We would all understand.
